The Artists for Conservation launched their official Blog in January 2011. This is the AFC’s latest initiative in spreading the word about the artistic movement that inspires individuals and organizations to preserve and sustain our natural heritage. The AFC units the talent and passion of the world’s most gifted nature artists.

In addition to regular articles by AFC president Jeffrey Whiting, it will feature a series of articles by a range of guest bloggers, including Signature Member, Canadian artist Kelly Dodge.

The Blog will cover a variety of categories of interest to a wide variety of followers. Dodge’s topic will fall under the category of “Everyday Backyard Experiences” in her rural backyard of Lakefield, Onario, Canada. Dodge’s lighthearted and personable approach will both entertain and educate readers around the world. She will share a series of stories that happen in her daily life as a nature artist. Also featured will be video footage and photographs of some of her backyard wildlife interactions.

Some of the other scheduled guest bloggers include Alison Nicholls U.S., Rob Parkin U.K., Rachel Dillon U.S., Steve Quinn U.S. and Polyanna Pickering U.K. who will also share thoughts and expertise about topics relating to art and conservation.

“I invite you to stay tuned to this blog and join me and several of our AFC artist members and AFC partners from around the world in sharing our thoughts and expertise on various topics related to The Art of Conservation.” says Jeffrey Whiting, Founder and President of the AFC, “I remain ever optimistic and excited about our future, and the role of artists in making our world richer, more diverse and sustainable.”

Founded in 1997 the AFC’s strength lies in its membership and represents a who’s-who of nature artists worldwide. To maintain the highest level of talent, membership is limited to 500 artists worldwide. Dodge has been a member since the onset of her career in 2001.
