Canadian artists, Kelly Dodge, Michael Dumas and David Foyn comprised a volunteer board assigned to curate and design the Canadian Masters Exhibit. This special event was designed to coexist within the 2010 Buckhorn Fine Art Festival, an annual event now in its thirty second year staged in the small hamlet of Buckhorn, Ontario, Canada.

The exhibit honoured artistic excellence and featured original works of such iconic Canadian artists as Robert Bateman, A.J. Casson, Krieghoff, Glen Loates, Michael Dumas, Brent Townsend, Chris Bacon, Juan Martinez, Norval Morrisseau, Ken Danby, Fenwick Lansdowne, Joseph Jacobs, Claudio D’Angelo, Fernando Frietas and Nori Peter. All art was for sale except Casson, Krieghoff, Danby, Morrisseau, and Fenwick Lansdowne.

The Slideshow (which can be viewed by clicking the above image) represents an overview of the transformation that took place in the Buckhorn Community Centre turning the entire west end into a gallery setting. The BFAF is a fundraiser for the community centre each August and is a showcase of ‘fine art’ excellence! Quality and innovative fine art is available for appreciation, viewing and purchase in a vibrant, rural community setting. Recognized as one of the supreme Canadian Art Festivals, the Buckhorn Fine Art Festival promotes over 90 North American artists who collectively display an array of forms and mediums.

Many thanks to the generosity of Robert Bateman for painting an original piece, unveiled for the first time at the grand opening of the Canadian Masters and BFAF. Mr. Bateman also gave permission to use its imagery in support of the Canadian Masters exhibit as well as for exclusive festival promotion material.

The exhibit was a tremendous success, attracting much attention from art lovers around the world with international exposure in a feature article written by Michael Dumas in the June issue of Wildscape Magazine U.K.
